Gifts from friends, and my first proper attempt at blocking -

Hudaks Bakery Orange Loaf. The most delicious bread in the world. I would like to pretend that it lasted me for three breakfasts.

Just before these friends arrived for dinner I was standing staring in the top draw wondering where the h. e. double hockeysticks all the spoons had gone. I was delighted when presented with:

I finally finished Madli's shawl, finally cleaned the soaking bucket and finally had my first real attempt at blocking. I initially fell in love with it when I saw a no-nupps version on All Tangled Up.

Stretching lace is fun. I am thinking about blocking wires, they would make the edges look o! so lovely.

Coming home -

Walking home tonight I passed a ute, one boy was leaning against the door, three were sitting across the front seat wearing wife beaters and looking to see if I was looking at their flexing muscles.

Just as I was passing through their thick cloud of marijuana smoke I heard one say, 'Yeah, ever since I gave up the ciggies, my speech has been really slurred.'

I have found the love for this project:

When I started it last year I was doing data entry. Inspired by All Tangled Up, it flew along, I finished a repeat a day, or more. Then I started teaching. Suddenly I managed barely a repeat a week. Then gave up altogether because 'fire bad, tree pretty' - lace too hard.

Bless Wendy Dennis -

Why don't I feel the love for this one anymore? It was all the rage at the end of last winter. I knit most of it in 3 weeks, I was obsessed. Then I started a new job and, in spite of it being the only project I was working on, there were only 8 inches in the next 13 weeks.

The Wendy Dennis 4ply polwarth yarn (her sheep wear little jackets, you can see them from the train if you head down the coast) spun with silk. Delicious.

Still struggling with the focus.

Heh, focus, geddit?

This is me and my brother when we were little.

Langushing in a Draw Somewhere Projects -

The grey version of Madli's Shawl in Wendy Dennis 4ply wool/silk (so soft, so delicious).

Wrist warmers (started off as Jaywalkers, but I changed my mind) in Trekking 100.

Jayne Hat (only about four rows to go on the last ear flap)

A top down jumper that is too short and needs its cast off ripped out so that I can make it longer so that it will be worn. I used to think the wool was quite nice ($ a ball Patons grey boucle), but now it is irritating me.

Vine lace scarf out of a pink/purple varigated yarn from the Bendigo Sheep and Wool show. I must have started that thing at least 3 years ago.

A jumper that my mum started that has been handed over. An extremely 80s number in cream wool.

I think that is all, unless there are others lurking.
